The Dunbow Recreation Board (DRB) was formed in 2008 to explore and develop recreation projects within the MD of Foothills #31, Division 6.  Our mission is to work with the residents and established Associations to identify their recreational requirements and engage the communities in the development and provision of recreational facilities without impacting taxes.

The Annual General Meeting for the Dunbow Recreation Board will be held on 23 January 2012 at the Davisburg Community Centre and will start at 7:00 p.m.  This meeting is open to the public and all community residents are warmly welcomed to attend.

We are excited to share some of the 2011 key accomplishments.

  1. Hometown Heroes Gala: event raised $200,000 inclusive of donations presented at the Gala.
  2. Community Turkey Dinner: event raised $14,700.
  3. Scott Seaman Sports Rinks and the Calgary Foundation approved a grant in the amount of $750,000 to the MD of Foothills, to be used for the development of health and wellness facilities, including the Heritage Heights Multiuse Arena.
  4. The DRB has reached 75% of the total fundraising target of $1,250,000.
  5. Initial corporate sponsorship planning has taken place, with a formalised program launching spring 2012.

We are committed to raise $1,250,000 of the cost of the Multipurpose recreation centre (estimated cost $6.25 million).

Thanks to our sponsors, donors and all the people attending the Turkey Dinner on October 1, 2011.  Over $14,700 was raised towards our fundraising goal and we are grateful for your support.

We are on track to have reached 75% of our goal in the first 18 months.  Our Corporate Sponsorship drive will commence with breaking ground on the Arena spring 2012.
